Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

The easiest way is to chat with one of our LolaRoute Destination Experts — we’re always here and ready to help. If you prefer, you can also start online by filling out our “Let’s Create Your Route” form. Once submitted, a member of our team will reach out within 2 business days to begin shaping your journey.

Do you recommend an airline or travel insurance provider?

Yes! For international flights, we often recommend LATAM Airlines because they offer good, reliable flight schedules that connect conveniently with our itineraries. For peace of mind, we also suggest purchasing coverage through TravelInsurance.com, where you can easily compare plans and find the one that fits your trip best.

Travel Insurance: https://www.travelinsurance.com

What type of clothing do I need?

For your comfort and convenience, we recommend bringing lightweight clothing such as comfortable pants and blouses/shirts, special walking shoes, whether sneakers, flat shoes, or hiking shoes, and a parka for the cold and wind in the South. Don't forget to pack a swimsuit for sauna, pool, and spa moments.

What does Double Occupancy mean?

Double Occupancy means two people traveling together and staying in the same room. The tour prices are usually quoted as "per person, double occupancy" when two people are traveling together and staying in the same room but paying separately. This arrangement allows the cost of the lodging to be shared, reducing the overall cost. It could be a married couple, two friends, or relatives.

What is a Single Supplement?

Whenever a person travels alone, the cost of their lodging cannot be shared by another person. When tour products are priced, they are normally stated as "per person, double occupancy." Whenever a guest occupies a room as a solo, the whole cost of the lodging must be incurred by that one individual. Tour companies accommodate this by charging a Single Supplement. LolaRoute does its best to keep the single supplement as low as possible, but it is a real cost that tour companies must absorb and pass to the single traveler.

If I am a Solo Traveler, will I be paired with another person?

At LolaRoute, we do not automatically pair a solo traveler with another person without a special request. If you book a single occupancy, you will have a room entirely to yourself. However, if you wish to be paired with another solo traveler to save on the single supplement, you may request this. Please note that we cannot guarantee that we can accommodate such requests, as it would require another solo traveler to be available for the same tour and dates. But rest assured, we will certainly try to fulfill your request if possible.

Are international flights included in the tour price?

International flights are not included, but LolaRoute provides assistance with booking both international and domestic round-trip flights.

What luggage is recommended for the trip?

This trip involves domestic flights and transfers to different hotels and destinations, so we recommend NOT to bring a large suitcase, but rather a carry-on bag and a backpack. DO NOT BRING ANY LIQUIDS IN THE CARRY-ON SUITCASE OR BACKPACK.

May we request separate beds if sharing a room?

Yes. In most cases, LolaRoute can accommodate a request for two beds in one room. Make sure to make this request in the comments section of the reservation process.

Can your tours accommodate my dietary restrictions?

Yes, LolaRoute can accommodate dietary choices and restrictions. However, we request that you ask a specialist before making your reservation so we can assess your situation.

Can I get a partial refund if I cannot use a portion of the tour?

Unfortunately, due to vendor and supplier contracts, we cannot provide partial refunds for unused portions of any tour or tour component.

Are Transfers included in the Itinerary?

Yes, all transfers, including round-trip transfers from and to the airport, are included in the Itinerary. This means you don't have to worry about arranging your own transportation, allowing you to focus on enjoying your trip.

What meals and excursions are included in the tour?

The Sample Itinerary should be your reference. For those days where it expressly notes free time, any optional activities you elect to participate in might have an additional cost. In addition, if the itinerary states "evening on your own," it would imply that you can visit a chosen restaurant at your own expense.

Is it possible to extend our stay through LolaRoute destinations?

Yes, we have additional programs and excursions to extend your trip. These are priced separately. We can also assist with pre and post night stays in a hotel if you choose to come in early before the tour starts or stay after the tour ends. The price of those hotel stays is not included in the price of the tour, but we would be happy to provide a quote.

Are Guide or Host Gratuities included in the price of the tour?
Rest assured; this tour is all-inclusive. LolaRoute takes care of all the tips, so you can focus on enjoying your experience. If you feel like showing extra appreciation, we can offer some suggestions. However, the general guideline is to tip modestly when you are pleased with a guide's, Chef's or professional service, either at the end of the tour or at the conclusion of a specialty day excursion. The choice is always yours.
Should we plan on any personal expenses during the tour?

All lodging, meals, transfers, classes, and excursions mentioned in the Sample Itinerary are included. However, we highly recommend taking local currency for purchasing personal items, souvenirs, etc. You can either get the local currency at an airport exchange service, ATM or from your local bank prior to travel.

Do you recommend Travel Protection?

A travel protection plan is mandatory at LolaRoute. It will help protect you and your travel investment against the unexpected. Travel protection plans can include coverage for trip cancellation, trip interruption, emergency medical and emergency evacuation/repatriation, trip delay, baggage delay, and more.

What safety recommendations do you provide?

To reduce the risk of theft, we recommend keeping your belongings in sight, avoiding displaying valuable items or wearing jewelry in public, and avoiding isolated or poorly lit areas. We suggest carrying your backpack or bag in front of your body. These precautions are essential in cities.

What kind of wine experiences can I expect?

Enjoy personalized tastings at boutique and family-run wineries, tour elegant vineyard estates, and learn about winemaking traditions directly from local experts.

Is this tour customizable?

Yes, the adventure is fully personalized to match your pace, interests, and preferences, whether you’re a wine enthusiast, foodie, or nature lover.
